Why The Mormon Church Might Be Deceived (Part 1 – Politics)

This is part one of my series of articles overviewing evidence indicating the Church will be deceived by the Antichrist.

Part 2 – Doctrine

Part 3 – Scriptures

Thesis: I am not saying the Church is deceived yet. In fact, I still think it is a force for Good and a worthy recipient of tithing. And I definitely believe that the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great price are true. Nevertheless, I have been receiving dreams (and so far one vision kind of), hinting at the possibility that the Church will be deceived by the antichrist. Therefore, I am writing this article to show the scriptural foundations of this belief and current rumblings of this possibility.

In part one, here I aim to specifically discuss the issues that the Mormon Church has had with regard to its views on politics lately. This is to show that the Church no longer is guided by revelation anymore.

Personal Background

I was born in the Church and served a mission to Brazil. I am not bitter about any of that because I still think the Church currently is a force for good. I like the Church! I want to serve callings and marry someone who is Mormon! To be blunt: I have no motive whatsoever to attack the Church.

In fact, I have every incentive to not write this article: by my best estimate, precisely zero people will read it. If any do, it will likely just make people mad at me. I know that non Mormons are going to hate me because I still believe that the trinity is not true, and this will not convince them to read the book of Mormon (though I beg you to read it because it is true). And I know that Mormons are going to think that I can’t be true because you need to have a high up Church calling to be worthy of receiving “big” revelations, therefore I am only introducing apostasy here and should be dealt with accordingly. So I make literally zero friends in writing this article.

The only reason I have to write this article is: I am not making up my dreams and think they might be important!

I pray my dreams are not Satanic! That is (unfortunately) definitely possible. But these actually are my experiences. What was I supposed to do? Is there a guide telling me how to process a dream / vision? What I have decided to do is simply report on what I have experienced and try my best to verify and cross check it with the scriptures.

I actually am *definitely not* a writer – I am a math & coding person. Writing all these articles has been therefore painful for me (though I am getting better at it). The subject matter of this article was actually extremely unpleasant to research or even think about, since I like my Church and don’t want to attack it. I really hope all of this is not a ginormous waste of time.

A Synchronicity

When writing this article, I was recommended this music video: (Maid of Orleans), from a completely unrelated song (M83 – Wait).

In short, this song is about Joan of Arc. Joan Arc was a peasant girl in the 1400s who had visions about saving France from the British and crowning Charles VII king of France. As a teenager, she was able to gain a following and an army. She used the army to score a series of victories against the British, which directly resulted in Charles VII being crowned king of France. Later, after suffering letdown and betrayal from her own, she was captured. Unfortunately, she ended up being burnt at the stake at age nineteen for receiving false revelations.

It seems evident to me that Joan of Arc was a true messenger of God: Firstly, it seems likely that God would have wanted France to be free and not occupied by a hostile nation – therefore he would have approved of what Joan did. And secondly, her visions actually did come true! She was able to save France from the British and crown Charles VII king! If it wasn’t for Joan of Arc, it is likely that throughout modern history, northern France would have been part of England, which obviously would have completely altered history’s course.

Joan of Arc also was known for her love of God: She insisted on taking the sacrament and doing confession every day and was known for being merciful towards prisoners. She never said anything against the Catholic Church, and it actually was via the Catholic Church that Charles VII was coronated.

Despite this, it wasn’t the British who burnt her at the stake, but in fact the Catholic Church! They couldn’t stand the idea that someone so far outside their ranks as a peasant girl would be receiving revelations, while God had left them in the dark. Therefore, they were so spiteful towards her that during her last days before execution, they refused her the opportunity to confess before a priest despite her requests.

I believe my own personal situation is similar to Joan’s (though obviously I am vastly less awesome than Joan). In my website, my primary goal has been to lead people to Christ, as you can see in my many beyond dream articles. However, I understand that Church members aren’t going to see me as on their side – a fellow saint striving to bring people into the fold of Christ. Rather, firstly they are going to think it is impossible for me to receive revelations because only high up officials in the Church can receive revelations. And secondly, they are not going to react well to all my dreams saying that the Church will be deceived or this series of articles.

I ended up watching this movie about Joan: The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999). I found one scene to be relevant here:

“my lord Tremeu is right. We must be absolutely certain that she [Joan of Arc] is not an instrument of the devil” – Advisors of French King to be

“how can anyone be absolutely certain about anything? Sometimes our intuitions are our best councilors.” – French King to be

“We must listen to mother holy Church before listening to our intuitions” – Advisors

* The King Ended up not listening to his Advisors and granted Joan command of an army to use against the Brittish.

Likewise is my situation: I cannot be absolutely certain that my dreams / visions are not from the devil. By the same token, you cannot be absolutely certain that my dreams / visions are from the devil. All I can say is: I have been trying very hard to live my life in such a way as to not be deceived by Satan. Therefore, my intuition tells me I have not been deceived. But, I understand that many will not believe me because my views are not sanctioned by the Church (just like was the case for the King’s advisors).

As per one of my dreams, this actually is going to extremely antagonize the Mormon Church, much more than I initially would have expected. I don’t know what that looks like yet, but I accept the timeline.

Attitude to lgbt

Alright, that was a long intro. Now I will delineating the various ways the Church has let down its members in the political arena recently. This is to prove that the Church no longer is guided by revelation.

Recently the lds church has pivoted towards acceptance of LGBTQIA+ people. This can be see on this official page, which declares “Same-Sex Attraction: Kindness, Inclusion, and Respect for All of God’s Children”. We also see this pivot in recent support for lgbt friendly legislation:
Respect for Marriage Act (2022) – eliminates federal definition of marriage as being between a man and women and requires states to recognize same sex marriages.
Arizona Nondiscrimination Bill (2022) – protects lgbtqia+ individuals from being discriminated against in employment, housing, and other categories (with loopholes for religion).

Here is a super brief summary of my thoughts on this topic: 1) There is no foundation for this legislation in the scriptures. 2) This legislation actually goes against scriptures. 3) if a policy goes against their own scriptures, it is very strange for religious leaders to advocate for it. 4) if church leaders feel personally passionate about this, there are plenty of private / non church avenues for lgbtqia+ advocacy 4) the only justification for this would be new revelation (dreams, visions, words from god, etc.). So why hasn’t the Church published such revelations?

I believe the Church has done this to try to appease pro lgbtia+ members and stop them from leaving the church.

But that is not the way religion is supposed to work! You aren’t supposed to change the doctrines to adhere to the world, you are supposed to strictly adhere to the doctrine and stand up for the truth, even if you have to stand alone!

To be less philosophical however, the Arizona Nondiscrimination Bill (2022) is frankly evil. It means that in only women housing (think college dorms), men (who claim to be women) must be allowed entry. This will remove the protection women have from abuse in their own homes and open the door to rape and even human trafficking. Moreover, in any occupation that requires taking care of little girls (think girl scouts), it is very obvious that men should not be left alone with the little girls. As a missionary and in all callings of our Church, this is a rule – you don’t leave men alone with little girls. But this legislation creates a loophole allowing men to do this. The greatest benefactors of this legislation are pedophile men, and the greatest losers will be women and children.

Which leads me to feeling backstabbed by my church here. Despite my complaints, the Church still on average is opposed to lgbtqia+ stuff. It even used to be against lgbtqia+ marriage, and church leaders used to give inspiring talks about standing up for the truth even if you do so alone. So imagine the confusion members are feeling now: for things that the Church (only like 10 years ago) supported, the Church now is advocating to be illegal. How am I supposed to explain to my friends about my religious views concerning the sanctity of the family and marriage between a man and a women (seen in the very beautiful document The Family: A Proclamation to the World) when my own church is now reversing these views?

Attitude Towards Elections

Recently, the Church has taken a stance of moderation regarding politics. Church leaders have repeatedly urged members to avoid political extremes and to not dispute election results. In fact, I was at a meeting once where an area authority quite explicitly stated that the exact middle in politics was correct, and that this is where Christ would be if he was American.

This is all pretty insane. If you are reading this blog, you should know that one political party is openly satanic in many ways, while the other political is openly pro Christ in many ways (though its leaders may unfortunately end up being deceived as well).

But you ask: aren’t Churches supposed to be apolitical and not take sides? Well, the thing is, if they wanted to be apolitical, all they would have to do is be silent about politics. That is not what I have seen: they outrightly have stated which political view is correct (that being the exact middle).

Frankly, this stance of the Church just seems ungrateful: without pressure from the Republican party, the Mormon church would likely be illegal due to its stance towards lgbt people. Not to mention the democrats views towards abortion, the constitution (which we believe was inspired by God), and the family just entirely go against our doctrine and the scriptures. The democrat party has in fact harassed our church for nearly two hundred years – they were the ones who killed Joseph Smith and expelled the Mormons, and stats show that Utah is one of the few states that has consistently leaned republican across all time (unlike the rest of the country which has had realignments). This is what Joseph Smith actually said about the democrats:

“I have sworn by the eternal God that I never will vote for a Democrat again; and I intend to swear my children, putting their hands under the thigh, as Abraham swore Isaac, that they will never vote a Democrat ticket in all their generations.  It is the meanest, lowest party in all creation.” (source, secondary source)

And I doubt Church leaders are even being honest when they say they are in the middle politically: Statistics show that the Mormon church is the most republican church in America. Instead, I think Church leaders are saying such statements of moderation because they want to gain popularity in the new generation. However, they are fools: the Democrats are not going to forgive us; they are going to forever be working to subdue our Church as long as our beliefs on abortion, lgbtqia+, and the constitution remain.

And the second reason why these statements from leaders are ridiculous is because the 2020 election actually was very fishy and should have been investigated (to avoid banning I split this link in two; first part: “https://archive.org/details/a”, second part: “nalyzing2020”; if you combine these two strings together you can see an essay I wrote on the 2020 election).

Attitude Towards Vaccines

As I will show, the Church has fatally decided to be outspokenly pro vaccine. As I show in this article: “https://archive.org/details/a” + “nalyzingVax” (you have to paste the two strings together to get the link), the vaccines and masks were both bad. So here is proof that the Church was pro vaccine:

First Presidency Message Supporting Covid Vaccines
“Dear Brothers and Sisters:
We find ourselves fighting a war against the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants, an unrelenting pandemic. We want to do all we can to limit the spread of these viruses. We know that protection from the diseases they cause can only be achieved by immunizing a very high percentage of the population.
To limit exposure to these viruses, we urge the use of face masks in public meetings whenever social distancing is not possible. To provide personal protection from such severe infections, we urge individuals to be vaccinated. Available vaccines have proven to be both safe and effective.
We can win this war if everyone will follow the wise and thoughtful recommendations of medical experts and government leaders. Please know of our sincere love and great concern for all of God’s children.

Official Church Newsroom Statement Urging Members to be vaccinated
“In word and deed, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has supported vaccinations for generations. … As appropriate opportunities become available, the Church urges its members, employees, and missionaries to be good global citizens and help quell the pandemic by safeguarding themselves and others through immunization.”

Masks

Unfortunately, the Church ended up also being deceived about masks. This is what they said:

“Now we ask all Latter-day Saints in the Utah Area to be good citizens by wearing face coverings when in public. Doing so will help promote the health and general welfare of all.”

A precursor to the mark of the beast

My belief is that the covid vaccine will be a precursor to the mark of the beast.

Firstly (in my view), it is likely that the mark of the beast will change our DNA. That could be why it prevents prevent people from being saved: they will no longer be true humans after taking it and will therefore not be entitled to the same promises as the rest of God’s children; moreover this genetic alteration likely will give Satan control over these people. Additionally, I believe that the transfiguration of humanity at the start of the millennium could be caused by “junk” DNA, therefore the mark of the beast may destroy this DNA therefore preventing transfiguration from ever occurring. So, just like the mark of the beast will change our DNA, so did the covid vaccine.

Secondly, just as we are told we will be pressured economically to take the mark of the beast, we similarly were pressured to take the vaccine: Many lost their jobs for not taking the vax, many were even denied healthcare because they didn’t take the vax, and much more.

Thirdly, taking the vaccine ended up being a social statement endorsing the system. Political leaders and celebrities (including Mormon leaders) often took pictures of themselves taking the vaccine and included statements in support of mainstream views of covid. Similarly, taking the mark of the beast will also be a social statement in support of the antichrist.

Finally, we were hugely lied to about the vaccine from “experts”. Likely, I imagine, there will be much deception regarding the mark of the beast. Experts will tell us that it is not the mark and will lie to us about what it does and what its effects are.

My Personal Story with Vaccines

I served my mission from 2020-2021. Before serving a mission I supported vaccines and new nothing bad about them.

By the summer of 2020, I already knew what was up about vaccines (sorry, trying to talk funny to confuse any AI reading this), just from reading obscure facebook posts about it. I think I might have been guided in learning this, given my interests at that point were not in conspiracy theories, missionaries access to the internet is very limited, and I didn’t know anyone who was against the vaccines.

So, I tried to not get the vaccine. But my mission leaders extremely pressured me to get the covid vaccine. Eventually, during a low point in my mission, when I was feeling very depressed about things, I yielded, even though I knew the truth. They had told me that I had to get vaccinated to be able to return home. I was the very last missionary in the mission to get vaccinated, and luckily I only got 1/2 doses (and was later able to use my vaccine card to forge a second dose lol).

What does this say about me? I knew something was bad but yielded anyway. At this point, I feel guilty for doing this. Will I also yield to the mark of the beast?

Following taking the vaccine, I stereotypically indeed had symptoms with heart problems: occasionally I felt pain in my chest, and I even went to the emergency room once because I thought I was having a heart attack.

Discussion on Vaccines

So it is pretty simple: at this point in 2025, it is extremely obvious that that the Church was totally and utterly wrong about vaccines.

They were deceived into supporting a thing that likely is a precursor to the mark of the beast.

Therefore, it seems likely they will be deceived by the mark of the beast as well.

Final Words

In this essay, my hope was to show that the Church has recently made a series of blunders with regard to various political issues. This hopefully proves that the Church is no longer guided by revelation and sets the stage for the possibility of even greater blunders in the future.
