Another day, another Dream
Background Rant
Sometimes, I like to reflect on the political position of the US and Europe – what our goals should be and how to accomplish them. But it ends up being frustrating because there doesn’t really seem to be an easy path forward: the only way it seems the population can be “woken up” is by great destruction, but the only point of waking up people is to avoid said destruction (case & point: most westerners are unwilling to admit that immigration from 3rd world nations is terrible until they see the consequences in their own communities, at which point it sort of is too late). Therefore, all I can do is put my trust in God that he has a plan for us.
Also, apparently questions in this section tend to be answered, seeing that this dream answered my question about Joseph smith from Nuclear Attack; Flee to Europe (July 20, 25), and that dream answered my question about the Caucasus from Betrayal / Dark forces in Churches / Discussing Christian Zionism (July 15), and that dream answered a question about Trump from Come unto God and Serve Him (July 13, 25).
So, my inquiries are 1) for further details about what will happen to Europe; 2) for further details on the establishment of the New Jerusalem (its location, the circumstances, and the timeline); and 3) what is God’s doctrine on marriage and plural marriage.
The Dream
I was in this society living in a massive cave; some of the regions were explored and others were not. Joseph Smith apparently had gone off into an unexplored region of the cave, where he had died, his corpse being presumably lost somewhere in the cave.
Therefore, I was in a sort of mission to find where Joseph Smith had gone missing. For some reason it mattered where he died, as if we were all trying to follow in Smith’s footsteps but we couldn’t, because we didn’t know where his final destination was. Complicating the task was this widespread lie that he had died in a different section of the cave than was actually the case; however, recent archeological finds indicated which region I should start my exploration.
Before embarking, I knew that people tended to go missing in the section I was visiting. In that section, I proceeded to encounter demonic entities that would chase me – at one point I felt I was cornered, but then there was a small passage behind me allowing me to escape; in general I felt I met more entities the deeper I ventured. Part of my journey also required me to go underwater and emerge in a new region of the cave. Eventually, I found a sort of “new world” – it felt like a sanctuary, had glowing multicolored mushrooms, was completely empty of inhabitants, and had this abandoned but perfectly good cozy cabin to stay in. Throughout the dream, I was also searching for pieces of lost scripture (like actual pieces of paper lost in the cave), and on waking I wrote down in my notes that I had a specific doctrine that I had written down in the dream which I was advocating.
Upon waking I wrote that I was “following in the steps of Joseph Smith”, and that in the dream I was being watched by an audience (I guess meaning I am being judged for how I follow God?).
Following this, I started praying about the meaning of the dream, and why Zion wasn’t established during Joseph Smith’s life. The following scene I saw was quite strange – I almost didn’t include it but after praying I think I know the interpretation (which I will discuss later). I saw the character “Elijah” from the YouTube channel “Shiloh and Bros” tell me “thank you for that, but Rosco has already done so much for us”, and I knew he was thanking me for my prayers.
Following this, I continued praying and received a series of words from God. By word I mean a word that I heard in my head, so not an audible word (though I have heard audible words from God too). However, when I heard these words I had this indescribable feeling of Glory – sort of like the feeling you get from looking at an object made of gold or listening to the tabernacle choir. Immediately after each word I wrote it down, before closing my eyes and waiting for the next message to come. Here are the words:
- “For the prophets, I know you are down to three people, but there is still important information for you to look at 1) the mysteries of the kingdom of god, 2) the last day events, 3) instructions for the saints, and 4) be the salt of the earth.”
- “Joseph Smith tried his best but was cut short by the unfaithfulness of the saints – they were seeking temporal salvation, rather than to attain the kingdom of God”. I also imagined a prophet going into secret places that people were unwilling to follow him to, and a word about the fourth point (be the salt of the earth) being neglected.
- “It was the problem with all my saints, Brigham. They sought me materially instead of spiritually, they didn’t seek me in prayer but with their lips. I was not the end, but the means to an end.”
- “My servants had to receive strict revelations from Joseph because only Joseph Smith was seeking me; it only was Joseph that was sincerely following me.”
- “Zion cannot be built upon unholy ground, but these people were building the building blocks of Zion, just spiritually, not physically, which they never understood.”
- “All the problems that you see with the church now were also problems with the church in the early days.”
Interpretation
So, the whole dream was in answer to my question about why Zion wasn’t properly established in Missouri during Joseph Smith’s day.
I guess before having the dream I thought there was a special reason for this, but the answer really is exactly as explained in the scriptures. The saints during Joseph Smith’s time were not righteous enough, which is exactly what the scriptures warned about (D&C 101:1-8, D&C 105:2–6, D&C 97:24-27, D&C 124:45–46), though from our modern eyes it may seem unrealistic because we put the saints at that time on a pedestal.
The cave represents the world – the populated parts of the cave represent conventional thinking and abandoned parts unconventional thinking. So, when Joseph went off into the unexplored regions, that represents how he had gone into the secret place of God (Psalms 91) – and of course he wanted others to come with him, but few did, leaving him largely alone throughout his life. The confusion regarding his death location represents how people lied about and misrepresented Joseph Smith after his death. The archeological find represents (I think) how in the modern days a few saints are starting to be led into these secret places once more. And my journey through the cave represented how our mission, as saints, is to follow the footsteps of Joseph Smith to the secret place of God. If we do so we will find sanctuary, as represented by the cabin & magical wonderland which I found. However, during this journey we will become a target to the enemy (as represented by the demonic entities in the dream), though God will deliver us (as seen in my miraculous escape from the entities).
The words give some detail on how the saints were not righteous: 1) they were not going into the secret place of the Lord; 2) they sought physical salvation rather than spiritual salvation; 3) they were using God as a means to an end, rather than him being the end in itself. Since the dream notes that many of the problems held by modern saints were held by them of old, my articles (The Dark Side of Organized Religion & Four Steps to Salvation) likely provide additional insight into this unworthiness. As a result, the saints never established Zion, because Zion cannot be built upon “unholy ground”.
Regarding Elijah thanking me for my prayers, but Rosco had already done enough, let me explain the meaning. For background, the YouTube channel “Shiloh and Bros” (where these characters come from) follows a fantastical story of siblings who live in a spaceship traveling to different worlds to help out. Rosco is an alien comedic relief who sometimes accompanies them but can’t speak English, and Elijah is the oldest of the siblings who is the leader. So, Elijah represents God, and Rosco represents nonverbal communication. Thus, it means that the real heavy lifting on my part that lead to the series of words I received was not my prayers (which in this case were really mantras – I don’t recommend praying mantras, unless you are trying to go back to sleep), rather it was my non verbal communication with God (whatever that means). Also, it’s worth noting that I highly doubt I would have remembered the name “Rosco” normally – I even had to check my notes to get the name right even as I am writing this down.
The word about the three prophets confuses me because I am pretty sure there are far more than three people who are receiving revelations from God (I give eight examples of other people I believe are receiving dreams / revelations in Truth in Dreams). One interpretation could be that it is referring to the prophets left who still have a great work to accomplish – most other people who have received prophetic council have already completed their works. And I suppose it is weird to imply that I am a prophet, I certainly never felt like one (and am extremely not perfect), but I guess prophets come in many different forms.
I think the phrase “Joseph Smith tried his best but was cut short by the unfaithfulness of the saints” means exactly that (as opposed to other theories that say Joseph died because he made a mistake with the Lord).
For some background, during the time of Joseph’s death, after having already being driven out and massacred in several cities, the saints had settled in Nauvoo, Illinois. Much of this persecution was actually enacted by the government – for example: in Missouri they received the extermination order from the governor, reading “The Mormons must be treated as enemies, and must be exterminated or driven from the state if necessary for the public peace…”. So faced again with legal charges from authorities, Joseph smith was ordered to hand himself over into custody. At this point, Joseph received revelation that if he was handed over, he would die (despite miraculously escaping unlawful execution by authorities in Missouri). Thus, Joseph Smith was about to flee into the frontier, however the saints were threatened that if Joseph Smith fled, the saints would be exterminated (source). So, the saints persuaded Joseph to turn himself into the authorities. Which he did, after which the authorities locked him in a room and a Mob broke in and killed him.
Thus, we see that part of the responsibility for Joseph’s death was indeed held by his unfaithful friends, who pressured him to go to his death. But we really should feel sorry for the saints – after all, Joseph got to go to heaven – meanwhile the saints left on earth were still driven out, despite having handed Joseph Smith over.
