My belief is that the 3 days of darkness comes prior to much of the tribulation (some scriptures support this, many don’t).

However, this theory actually mostly comes from other people’s dreams.
The most important part of the theory is that during the three days of darkness, there will be demonic entities outside masquerading as family members (they can shapeshift) that try to enter your house. Therefore, you need to cover up your windows so you can’t see what is outside and not let anything into your house (even if it claims to be a loved one). I personally have never dreamt of this, but it is an oddly specific prediction I have heard by many people:
– I met someone in San Antonio who said he had a heart attack where his soul floated out of his body and God told me about these 3 days of darkness (posted about here)
