Astral Projection Basics

In this article I will attempt to explain Astral Projection from a Christian Perspective.

Astral Projection occurs when one’s soul separates from their body, allowing one to explore various realms that would otherwise have been inaccessible while being bound to the body. This state also allows one to see spiritual entities that normally are invisible. Therefore, Astral Projection gives demonic entities special access to influence our views since they can become fully visible and audible to a person while astral projecting. Consequentially, many have been deceived by experiences they had with demonic entities during Astral Projections.

My Story Astral Projecting

My first experiences astral projecting came before I had received any prophetic dreams, in which I followed a YouTube tutorial (here) on how to astral project and it worked: my soul was pulled into a wonderful looking cloudy astral realm. I used my time there to ask an entity how I could make myself stop sinning, to which the entity seemed sort of scared of me.

After that, most of my attempts to astral project only led to my soul just floating through the room I was sleeping in, and usually there were audial hallucinations trying to distract me out of the trance. I think that this is because demonic entities pull astral projectors to the beautiful cloudy astral plane to teach them false new age stuff, but since they knew I was Christian, they would rather that I didn’t astral project, as astral projections helped confirm my faith in the supernatural.

As I started receiving prophetic dreams, I stopped attempting voluntarily to astral project, but I kept on astral projecting all the same, but this time involuntarily. And instead of the weird audial hallucinations simply trying to break my trance (by for example telling me to wake up), they instead became very hateful. On multiple occasions the demons tried to explain to me why Satan’s side was right and God’s side was wrong. They told me that missionary work was a waste of time. One time a spirit threatened to kill me. Etc. I think this was because I had annoyed these entities with the gospel stuff I was doing. I’ve also seen in astral projections the demons trying to trick other people who I think were other astral projectors into believing new age stuff.

How is Astral Projection Done

* the point of this website is not to teach people to astral project, but I will briefly explain so readers can get full context.

Immediately after waking in the morning, you repeat mantras such as “I want my soul to leave my body to see the spiritual plane” or “my soul is detaching”. This you accompany by having mental imagery of your soul leaving your body, or using your soul to grab a golden rope and pull yourself up out of your body into the clouds, or being on a plane and a stewardess hands you a letter and you open it with a letter opener to see it say things like “I realize that I am astral projecting” (the letter visualization can help because it engages multiple senses and imagining holding the sharp edges of the paper is very tactile), or whatever other imaginations feel right to you. However, it isn’t purely just imagining the process of an astral projection, but actually desiring it – thus, simply using the mantra “I want something supernatural to happen to me” could be effective. Finally, astral projection requires reaching a quasi-hypnagogic state, which is why these rituals mainly work early in the morning when you are laying on your back perfectly still; other people also report that listening to white noise helps.

Following these rules has worked for me reliably – the first time I tried to do it, it worked, and most of the subsequent attempts it also worked – though it can sometimes take hours of patient meditation beforehand. However, I have seen others online claiming to have attempted to do it many nights only to be met with failure, so it’s possible that natural talent also plays a role.

What Do You Experience

  1. I start to feel energy moving through my body (other people report vibrations).
  2. I here audible hallucinations that seem deliberately trying to wake me up (people telling me to do stuff, foot steps that seem like they are going to walk on me, pets making sounds like they want something, etc.)
  3. I feel my soul leave my body, with different parts very distinctly leaving at different times. One time my soul only became half detached so I could see normally out one eye, but out the other eye I saw stuff in the spirit plane.
  4. A strong sense of weightlessness and then jerky motion follows.
  5. After a moment, a vision of this new realm materializes out of the blackness of closed eyes.
  6. The Spirit Plane usually looks similar to our world, except some things might be different: you might see dust in the air, you might see trash on the floor, and of course there are demonic entities. The Stranger things tv show depicts it surprisingly well.
  7. Space doesn’t work the same – going through doors can lead to totally different places.
  8. Your vision will be weird – often times it looks very grainy or pixelated. One time for me it was on grey scale, and another time it looked like I was seeing things through a thermal camera. My understanding is that you aren’t actually receiving much information from the spirit plane and your brain is reconstructing images from very limited information.
  9. For me these experiences only last like a minute. After that it becomes disconnected – everything becomes blurry and you get pulled back into your body. You are then fully awake and don’t have any intermediate dreams or memory loss (as is typical of most dreams).

Where Do You Go?

This is my map of the cosmos:

I explain the scriptures leading to this diagram in great detail here.

In my opinion, you could go to a great many places when you astral project. However, you are unlikely to go to the beautiful cloudy Astral plane reported by many astral projectors unless Satan’s hosts allow you to enter, and likewise it probably is impossible to enter into heaven unless God wants you to enter.

If you are me, you usually either go directly to the room in which you were sleeping, or to some unknown location that looks similar to earth, except appears off and creepy.

What is the Purpose of Astral Projecting?

Overall, I believe there is very little point in Astral projecting. All that happens is demonic entities try to trick you into believing things that contradict the truth found in the scriptures. Or they threaten and mock you. I have learned nothing from my astral projections whatsoever. It is not uplifting – it is just usually creepy. The scriptures don’t teach us about astral projection because the way we approach God is not by meditating on our souls leaving our body, but by reading the scriptures, praying, partaking in the sacrament, repenting, and trying our best to follow the commandments.

Nevertheless, I can’t help but think there is a link between all the revelatory experiences I have had and my ability to astral project. Indeed, almost all of my visions recorded here have been very similar to astral projections, and some of them were seemingly induced by similar to astral projection techniques – such as Vision of the Book of Mormon.

As said, I no longer voluntarily astral project, because I don’t want to give Satan any greater access to myself than he already has.
