Mass Casualties During Tribulation
Many in my family appear to have the belief that the earth will just grow more and more righteous, until the millennium happens. Yet we get a much different picture from the scriptures:
Isaiah 24:1–3
1 Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word.
Jeremiah 4:20-28
20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
…22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
…25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.
27 For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.
Revelation 18:22-23
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Amos 5:18-19
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
Because the World is Wicked
As you can read, the scriptures imply that most people will die when the world ends. Why must most people die? Well because of wickedness – as the scriptures say, most people are not righteous:
Matthew 7:13–14
13 ¶ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
2 Timothy 3:1–8
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
Matthew 24:10–12
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
1 John 5:19
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
2 Timothy 4:3–4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
The Numbers Overview
So then the question becomes: how can I claim that most people are not righteous? Aren’t most people basically good, so why can’t more be saved?
It’s tempting to say: well, nearly no-one believes in modern-day revelation, and of supposed modern day revelations, much of it isn’t even true, so of course not many people will be saved. But to me this doesn’t seem very fair, as belief in modern revelations can easily change and isn’t really a permanent personality attribute.
In my view, the truth is simpler: the vast majority of people have personality faults and thus are not truly elect – and only the truly elect are elect.
I guess this is the type of essay you write if you are hoping to trigger this scripture to apply to yourself:
Matthew 7:1-2
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
But onward regardless. Here are the proportions of people that are able to pass various personality attribute tests. Later in this essay, I will substantiate the numbers for each trait:
- 75% of people are not excessively prideful.
- 50% of people don’t take their anger out on others.
- 78% don’t have problems with excessive criticism or anger.
- 92% of people are not sadistic.
- 37% of people cooperate in prisoner’s dilemma situations.
- 27% of people feel pain when they see others feeling pain.
- 82% of people are faithful partners.
- 57% of white people are republicans.
- 40% of republicans are somewhat conspiracy theorists.
- 84% of republicans are Christian.
- 59% of republicans think that being gay is wrong (funnily enough, the number is lower for plain Christians).
Also, the younger generations seem to be particularly self absorbed – in Catavehrla Generation, I provide statistics on this.
* If you are reading this, it’s probably obvious that I am unmarried and never have been forced to seriously deal with these attributes in others or myself, LOL. But from my life experience, most of the time there are serious yet unnecessary conflicts between people, it is because one of said persons was lacking in one of the above variables.
Why does politics matter? Well, from my perspective, it is pretty obvious that democrats are evil, and seeing how exposed Americans are to politics, I think you are not elect if you haven’t figured that out.
Regarding conspiracies, belief in them mainly matters because it is a proxy for truth seeking behavior / valuing the truth, as well as capacity to overcome luciferian deceptions – a trait which will be useful when the Antichrist comes.
Regarding belief that being gay is wrong, that matters because it is a proxy for truly being a Christian. The scriptures clearly say that being gay is wrong…
If we assume all of these variables are independent, then the calculation of what fraction of people are truly elect becomes:
.75 * .5 * .78 * .92 * .37 * .27 * .82 * .57 * .4 * .84 * .59 = 0.25%
However, since many of these variables are correlated with each other, the actual number probably is much higher. My personal view is that: if you are in the top 40% of the population in terms of reaching correct political truth, and among the top 45% of these conservatives in terms of being a good person, and among the top 2/3rds of these good-conservatives in terms of relationship with God, then you are pretty elect. So, that is .4 * .45 * (2/3) = 12% of the population.
I suppose that you, my dear reader, probably object to the importance I place in politics. My first reply to this is: since almost all republicans are Christian and very few democrats are Christian (at least among white people), my politics factor somewhat doubles as a religion factor. Even among the rare democrat who is Christian, it seems that most of these are more accurately described as “apostasy” Christians, since they usually have very incorrect views regarding the flesh, the world, judgement, and commandments. The second response is that I really do think that having correct political views is a strong indicator for having a love for the truth, a topic which I explore in Why People Are Wrong.
Also, if you vote for democrats, then you are actively helping to build Satan’s kingdom, so you are definitely not elect.
* The brand of conservatives who are only conservative because they lack empathy for their fellow humans – particularly seen among those who don’t care about the plight of the Gazans or don’t care about whether poor people suffer – are not very awesome. I wish to divorce my brand of conservatism from all that nonsense.
Regarding the relationship between the variables, having a love for the truth causes a person to become conservative (for the youth, this relationship is less clear, as the rival factor is that the left usually tries to appeal to morality – as that distracts people away from caring about truth – and so if you are a good person, but naïve, you can’t really be blamed for being left wing). In turn, being conservative tends to lead people to become Christian. And becoming Christian tends to lead people to becoming a good person.
Politics & Conspiracies
59% of white people voted for Romney (source), and 57% of white people voted for Trump (source).

Pride
In software engineering companies, 32–42% of engineers rated their own performance in the top 5% of their peers. Similarly, in college debate tournaments, the bottom 25% of teams lost nearly four out of every five matches, while they still thought they were winning almost 60% (David Dunning: Why Incompetent People Think They’re wonderful).
From these numbers, I guess I would say that 25% of people struggle with excess pride.
Negative Coping Strategies
From these stats, I guess I will say that 50% of people take their anger out on others, and vice versa.
Sadism
“When sadistic personality disorder was still considered a psychiatric condition, researcher James Reich found that 8.1 percent of participants in his study would meet the criteria” (source).
This research is also interesting.
Defecting
In prisoner dilemma scenarios, the average rate of cooperation is only 37% (source).
People who feel pain when they see others feel pain
Shockingly, the number is only 27% (source).
Is Being Gay is OK
- 59% of republicans think that being gay is wrong (source).
- 59% of republicans think that gay marriage should not be legal (source).
- 40% of Christians think that being gay should be discouraged (source).
Proportion Republicans who are Christian
80% of Trump voters are Christian (source) compared to 40% of Harris voters.
Per this source, 84% of Republicans are Christian.
Infidelity
“Studies show 20% to 25% of married couples in the United States experience infidelity (Wiederman, 1997; Atkins et al., 2001). According to a survey by the General Social Survey (Wang, 2018), approximately 20-25% of men and 10-15% of women report having cheated on their spouse during their marriage, and about 20% of men and 13% of women reported infidelity at some point in their lives. Some research suggests infidelity affects up to 40% of married couples (Laumann et al., 1994).” (source)
The workplace remains the most common breeding ground for affairs of all types. Studies show that 31% of affairs begin with coworkers, and the likelihood increases dramatically with corporate rank:
Non-management employees: 9% report workplace affairs
Middle management: 24%
Upper management: 37% (source)
Furthermore, 23% of white children live in single parent households (source). Of course, it only takes one irresponsible parent for this, so the individual level of sin with regarding to neglectful parenting will be less than 23%.
From these numbers, my point estimate is that 18% of people are unfaithful in marriage (so 82% are faithful).
Criticism and Anger
Swearing or name calling is unacceptable – so I would say that 22% struggle with excessive criticism.

Americans are Mistrusting
This stat is interesting even if it isn’t really central to my argument. My opinion here I guess aligns with my country, but no other countries. To be honest, I think people from my country have more valid opinions than everyone else, because America is the most diverse society the world has ever seen, and thus we have a much bigger picture perspective of the full scale of human nature. This isn’t to say that diversity is good, but I do think that living in diversity helps you to learn more about human depravity than you would if you were born in paradisical Sweden.

Conclusions
If you think I am too exclusive in this essay, let me note that: sort of the point of this essay is to make the number of truly, truly elect people be as low as possible, just as a frame of reference to compare with the scriptures and dreams. I think that if you have some personality failings, you probably can still be elect.
Hopefully, this essay encourages you, my reader, to become a better person. I know writing it has for me – hopefully, I will stop freeloading as much on doing the dishes LOL.
