Swadesh Lists

A Swadesh list is a list of 207 words which are universally present across all languages, which is a concept I already was familiar with before the dream.

In the dream, I made a huge table of Swadesh lists of native American languages, which I used to do analyses comparing languages, with the thesis that I could connect these languages to old Germanic languages.

Therefore, in the days following this dream, I did exactly that, producing these two essays:

Quantitative Linguistics shows Eastern Native American Languages are Semitic, Proving the Book of Mormon is True

Quantitative Linguistics shows that many Native American Language Families are Germanic

One noteworthy thing is that in this dream, I recall using a Swadesh table that was in long format – meaning that instead of the table having one column for each language, the table had different languages for each row, storing the name of the specific language used in a language column. This resulted in the table being thousands of rows long, instead of simply having 207 rows, one row for each word and one column for each language, as is typical for Swadesh tables (here is an example).

I thought in the dream and on waking that this was odd, because I have never seen a Swadesh table stored this way. However, when I was doing this research, I actually ended up using a table with this format because Claude transformed the tables into this long layout when I asked it to provide the IPA spelling of each word (to note, AI is evil, and perhaps I shouldn’t use it for coding tasks). This I viewed as a confirmation that the dream actually was from God.

Similarly, the results from Quantitative Linguistics shows that many Native American Language Families are Germanic also confirmed my dreams because they really did show that the language groups are connected (I also dreamt of native American languages resembling Germanic in Short Dreams from July).

But I also know that this dream was from God because the research which it caused me to produce actually is really important, since it proves that the Book of Mormon is true. And honestly, I didn’t at all expect to see that native American languages are related to Semitic, as my main view was that I would find them to be Germanic (which I did also find). So, it was amazing and wonderful to see in the linguistics of native Americans the very evidence that the Book of Mormon is true for which I have been searching for my whole life.

While my faith in the Book of Mormon originates from my personal spiritual experiences, I really do believe that from a purely secular perspective, a great many facts and statistics have proven beyond a doubt that the Book of Mormon is actually true. Old English

I dreamt of having a discussion with someone about which old European languages should be learned, and I said Old English because we don’t have any historical texts in Proto-Germanic from which we can read.

Animal Sacrifices

I dreamt of being an agent who went on missions tasked with restoring animal sacrifices. Therefore, I travelled to this home in a deciduous forest, where I commenced getting ready for a sacrifice. I also met up here with a girl about my age who would help me in this task

This firstly involved researching how sacrifices were conducted, which included my learning online about sacrifices and other ancient practices long ago performed in north-western Europe; in the dream this article had pictures.

After this, I started getting ready for testing a sacrifice in the back patio of the house, where I had four tables spaced apart from each other in roughly a square or rectangle shape. Each table had a large bowl on it and a large jug of water beside it, and I remember in the dream just finishing up getting this setup ready. I then recall talking with the girl helping me to make sure everything was cleaned up and we were ready. I think we might also have had a large piece of meat stored in a plastic container to use, but I remember less of this detail because the dream ended.

In summary, we were preparing to do a practice of a ritualistic sacrifice, which was difficult because we had never done this before and nobody was showing us how to do it.

Interpretation

I think that this dream is literally about how sacrifices will recommence at the start of the Millennium.

This dream is very similar to The Landing of The New Jerusalem, in which again we were preparing to do an animal sacrifice. In this dream, the sacrifice seemed to be part of the process of the New Jerusalem landing, but we were unprepared, since we had never done a sacrifice before, and instead relied on our research of the scriptures to know how to do it.

Scriptures about restoration of sacrifices

Here are a few scriptures about how sacrifices will resume at the start of the millennium:

Malichi 3:3
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

Doctrine and Covenants 13:1
1 Upon you my fellow servants, in the name of Messiah I confer the Priesthood of Aaron, which holds the keys of the ministering of angels, and of the gospel of repentance, and of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; and this shall never be taken again from the earth, until the sons of Levi do offer again an offering unto the Lord in righteousness.

Zechariah 14:16
16 ¶ And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
… 20 ¶ In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, Holiness unto the Lord; and the pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.

Interestingly, it appears from this Zechariah verse that at least some of the Jewish feast days will also be restored.

It’s also worth noting that Joseph Smith also taught that sacrifices would be restored during the millennium, which is discussed in Did Joseph Smith teach animal sacrifice as part of the “restoration of all things”? under the section “In 1840 Joseph Smith taught that the Old Testament (Malachi 3:3) foretells the restoration of elements associated with ancient Israelite temple service”.

Joseph Smith here brings up an interesting point, which is that sacrifices being recommenced does not strictly contradict scriptures about how the law of Moses is fulfilled, since animal sacrifices existed long before the law of Moses was ever even introduced.

Trump

I dreamt of picking up a large card and reading on it things Trump might do, and someone started yelling repeatedly and excitedly, “I knew it”, because the card represented how God wasn’t done with Trump since he would still have apart to play.

A Word on the Apostles Creed

While laying in bed, I thought I received this word from God in my head:

The Apostolic creeds, Brigham, were good. They showed how the early church tried to follow me earnestly. From then on however, greed and desire for honor entered the hearts of a polluted people, and they corrupted my church for power and fornication and vengeance (but vengeance is mine). Don’t be like them, my son, your father speaking.

Here is the Apostle’s creed, of which I think this word probably was referring (from the 1662 book of the common prayer, here is a link to the full text).

End Note: Rare Joseph Smith Scripture

While researching sacrifices, I came across this interesting verse from the Joseph Smith translation that I thought was worth sharing, as it provides further information on the coming down of the city of Enoch during the start of the Millennium:

Joseph Smith Translation Genesis 9:21-23
21 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant, which I made unto thy father Enoch; that, when men should keep all my commandments, Zion should again come on the earth, the city of Enoch which I have caught up unto myself.
22 And this is mine everlasting covenant, that when thy posterity shall embrace the truth, and look upward, then shall Zion look downward, and all the heavens shall shake with gladness, and the earth shall tremble with joy;
23 And the general assembly of the church of the firstborn shall come down out of heaven, and possess the earth, and shall have place until the end come. And this is mine everlasting covenant, which I made with thy father Enoch.
