One question relevant to this my site is: why will so many people die during the apocalypse? Aren’t most people basically good, so why can’t more be saved?
It’s tempting to say: well, nearly no-one believes in modern-day revelation, and of supposed modern day revelations, much of it isn’t even true, so of course not many people will be saved. But to me this doesn’t seem very fair, as belief in modern revelations can easily change and isn’t really a permanent personality attribute.
The truth is simpler: the vast majority of people have personality faults and thus are not truly elect – and only the truly elect are elect.
I guess this is the type of essay you write if you are hoping to trigger this scripture to apply to yourself:
Matthew 7:1-2
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
But onward regardless. Here are the proportions of people that are able to pass various personality attribute tests. Later in this essay, I will substantiate the numbers for each trait:
- 75% of people are not excessively prideful.
- 50% of people don’t take their anger out on others.
- 78% don’t have problems with excessive criticism or anger.
- 92% of people are not sadistic.
- 37% of people cooperate in prisoner’s dilemma situations.
- 27% of people feel pain when they see others feeling pain.
- 82% of people are faithful partners.
- 57% of white people are republicans.
- 40% of republicans are somewhat conspiracy theorists.
- 84% of republicans are Christian.
- 59% of republicans think that being gay is wrong (funnily enough, the number is lower for plain Christians).
Why does politics matter? Well, from my perspective, it is pretty obvious that democrats are evil, and seeing how exposed Americans are to politics, I think you are not elect if you haven’t figured that out.
Regarding conspiracies, belief in them mainly matters because it is a proxy for truth seeking behavior / valuing the truth, as well as capacity to overcome luciferian deceptions – a trait which will be useful when the Antichrist comes.
Regarding belief that being gay is wrong, that matters because it is a proxy for truly being a Christian. The scriptures clearly say that being gay is wrong…
If we assume all of these variables are independent, then the calculation of what fraction of people are truly elect becomes:
.75 * .5 * .78 * .92 * .37 * .27 * .82 * .57 * .4 * .84 * .59 = 0.25%
So, probably only a tiny fraction of people are truly elect. Of course, many of these variables are correlated with each other so the actual number should be higher, but I doubt it is above 10%. You, my reader, can draw your own conclusion.
If you are reading this, it’s probably obvious that I am unmarried and never have been forced to seriously deal with these attributes in others or myself, LOL. But from my life experience, most of the time there are serious yet unnecessary conflicts between people, it is because one of said persons was lacking in one of the above variables. Truly elect people don’t fight with each other.
Also, there is the variable that merely 4.7% of the world’s population is from north-western Europe or descended from that area. On a population basis, it seems like people from this group are on average (ON AVERAGE) more elect than other groups, though I still say that most people from even this group are not elect.
Politics & Conspiracies
59% of white people voted for Romney (source), and 57% of white people voted for Trump (source).

Pride
In software engineering companies, 32–42% of engineers rated their own performance in the top 5% of their peers. Similarly, in college debate tournaments, the bottom 25% of teams lost nearly four out of every five matches, while they still thought they were winning almost 60% (David Dunning: Why Incompetent People Think They’re wonderful).
From these numbers, I guess I would say that 25% of people struggle with excess pride.
Negative Coping Strategies

From these stats, I guess I will say that 50% of people take their anger out on others, and vice versa.
Sadism
“When sadistic personality disorder was still considered a psychiatric condition, researcher James Reich found that 8.1 percent of participants in his study would meet the criteria” (source).
This research is also interesting.
Defecting
In prisoner dilemma scenarios, the average rate of cooperation is only 37% (source).
People who feel pain when they see others feel pain
Shockingly, the number is only 27% (source).
Is Being Gay is OK
- 59% of republicans think that being gay is wrong (source).
- 59% of republicans think that gay marriage should not be legal (source).
- 40% of Christians think that being gay should be discouraged (source).
Proportion Republicans who are Christian
80% of Trump voters are Christian (source) compared to 40% of Harris voters.
Per this source, 84% of Republicans are Christian.
Infidelity
“Studies show 20% to 25% of married couples in the United States experience infidelity (Wiederman, 1997; Atkins et al., 2001). According to a survey by the General Social Survey (Wang, 2018), approximately 20-25% of men and 10-15% of women report having cheated on their spouse during their marriage, and about 20% of men and 13% of women reported infidelity at some point in their lives. Some research suggests infidelity affects up to 40% of married couples (Laumann et al., 1994).” (source)
The workplace remains the most common breeding ground for affairs of all types. Studies show that 31% of affairs begin with coworkers, and the likelihood increases dramatically with corporate rank:
Non-management employees: 9% report workplace affairs
Middle management: 24%
Upper management: 37% (source)
Furthermore, 23% of white children live in single parent households (source). Of course, it only takes one irresponsible parent for this, so the individual level of sin with regarding to neglectful parenting will be less than 23%.
From these numbers, my point estimate is that 18% of people are unfaithful in marriage (so 82% are faithful).
Criticism and Anger
Swearing or name calling is unacceptable – so I would say that 22% struggle with excessive criticism.

Americans are Mistrusting
This stat is interesting even if it isn’t really central to my argument. My opinion here I guess aligns with my country, but no other countries. To be honest, I think people from my country have more valid opinions than everyone else, because America is the most diverse society the world has ever seen, and thus we have a much bigger picture perspective of the full scale of human nature. This isn’t to say that diversity is good, but I do think that living in diversity helps you to learn more about human depravity than you would if you were born in paradisical Sweden.

Cultural Differences
Having visited southern Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, it’s kind of incredible how high the quality the life of the people in this region would have been during the Middle Ages. It appears that a great many farmers in this region lived in massive three-story tall houses, with equally massive barns. These weren’t nobility, or special tradesmen, but just your average-joe farmers. And having stayed in some of them in airbnbs, I can attest that these houses were built over a century ago. I’ve included a few pictures of various homes in the country-side of Switzerland to prove this (I chose northern Switzerland because many of the houses in southern Germany and Austria are newer and thus less authentic).
To state the obvious: this is atypical. For example, having travelled from Austria to Italy twice, the second you cross the border into Italy, it becomes way junkier. There is graffiti on walls, gum stuck to the ground, the buildings are more dilapidated and cramped together, and the train stations are lower quality and without benches. Generally, people in Italy don’t seem to care as much about the beauty of their environment, and so, for example, they don’t have manicured front yards like Germany or America. This isn’t to say that Italy sucks – Austria/Switzerland are also better than America – and actually I really like Italy (places like Austria seem too perfect for me to belong). I only note this because Americans probably are not fully aware of the differences within European countries.
The bigger difference is in Latin America: per Grok, the gdp per capita of Mexico right now is about $15,000, whereas the GDP per capita of Austria in 1700 would have been around $1,000. So, despite being over ten times more wealthy than northern Europeans in the 1700s, the beauty and quality of Latin American buildings and country side in 2026 is still truly immensely lower than would have been the case in Austria in 1700 (as far as I can tell). I won’t attach pictures, because literally just pick any random place in Latin America (besides the Latin American countries that are mostly white) and you will see spiked fences, bared windows, trash everywhere, and tiny falling-apart shack buildings often half finished.
So here are some random photos of the countryside in northern Switzerland:

Beyond the higher quality of life, northwestern Europeans (and their descendants in the British colonies) also enjoy the status of being nearly the only countries in the world capable of democracy that is not corrupt (the only non-corrupt Latin American countries are of course the ones that are full of white people).

* Also, all of the inventions seem to come from western Europe.

Yes, there are of course going to be elect people from other races besides northwestern Europeans. The problem though is: people are really biologically encoded to have loyalty to their own race and to people who physiologically look like themselves. So even if you are a high IQ, altruistic Mexican person (of which a great many do exist), just the fact that you look like you are Mexican will make you side with and give the benefit of the doubt to your fellow Mexicans. Which will ruin your political views. And if it doesn’t ruin your political views, these factors will still distort and ruin the political views of your children (look at how many Mexicans vote for democrats, despite being very Christian). And if it is unlikely that your children will be able to have good political views, then you aren’t really all that elect in my view, tragedy though it may be. Perhaps this won’t be a problem in the millennium though?
Per grok, there are about 210-220 million Europeans from northwestern Europe, and 150–200 million northwestern Europeans who (like me) are in diaspora in the British colonies. So, that is about (215+175) / (8,300) = 4.7% of the world’s population.
Conclusions
If you think I am too exclusive in this essay, let me note that: sort of the point of this essay is to make the number of truly, truly elect people be as low as possible, just as a frame of reference to compare with the scriptures and dreams.
I think that if you have some personality failings, you still can be elect, and of course people from every race/ethnicity/country/culture have the potential to be elect.
Hopefully, this essay encourages you, my reader, to become a better person. I know writing it has for me – hopefully, I will stop freeloading as much on doing the dishes LOL.
Cheers
